When you sit down to write
Do words flow artfully and effortlessly
From your brain to your pen
Lucky you
That has seldom been my good fortune
Maybe one or two pieces a year could be described thus
That it was “as if they wrote themselves”
That’s the extent of my experience with gifted inspiration
A hard grind is a more apt description of my writing travails
